DATEV Datenservice is a completely new topic for you? The connection to DATEV is already a matter of course for easybill users. As a DATEV partner, it is very important to us to provide our customers with a convenient way to transfer both document images and booking proposals to the accounting department with a click.
The DATEV interface has therefore now been updated. In the best case scenario, you haven’t even noticed it. Nevertheless, we would like to show you the advantages of the new version.
New design for the connection interface to the DATEV Datenservice
1 User name for connection access
From the user’s point of view, the DATEV connection is even more transparent. A new addition is that you can now also see which employee has established access when using the interface.
For example, if you use the easybill BUSINESS package and the employee administration, several users can be authorized to use the DATEV interface at the same time. To avoid any confusion as to who last established the connection between DATEV and easybill, we now display this in the interface.
2 Time specification for connection
From now on, it will not only show who has established the connection, but also when this was done. The connection is actually limited and also expires automatically, so you do not necessarily have to take action here to disconnect it. However, you can of course disconnect manually at any time.
3 Settings in quick access
Is this the first time you’ve heard of employee authorizations? Three employee accounts are included in the BUSINESS package. Additional accesses are billed separately. Is that worth it? Many companies have already set up their own accounts for so many employees, as access rights and, above all, employee actions can be easily controlled.
Not only can you specify exactly who is allowed to do what, but you can also track this. With regard to the GoBD, this is an important step towards traceability in the account.

Limiting the file size for transfers
There will also be an innovation in this area with immediate effect. There are now limits for the file size (20 MB) and for the entire transfer (150 MB) for the transfer to DATEV. If these limits are reached during the transfer, easybill will either mark the individual document or the entire transfer as faulty. At the same time, you ensure that the required storage space at DATEV is not too large.
In order not to reach or even exceed a size of 20 MB per document, you can check the file size of a logo or stationery used. These are common factors why files can reach a corresponding size.
Editing the general ledgers in DATEV
According to DATEV, very few companies use this. Nevertheless, easybill wants to be prepared and also offer the editing of general ledgers. A solution has now been created in case you ever need to do this. This means that you can also specify the transfer of document images to certain folders in DATEV Unternehmen online.
In the event of a year change, it happens from time to time that data fails during transfer. This is often due to the fact that the corresponding general ledger for the current financial year has not yet been activated. This must be done beforehand in DATEV and is usually done by the tax consultant.
In easybill, you will now see an error message or a yellow warning if an active action is required.
