Shipping management is an important part of the e-commerce process. Of course, you also include shipping in your value of goods, so it should be designed as efficiently as possible to give you the highest possible profit margin. easybill supports you in shipping management with a wide range of tools, which we would like to present to you in detail today.

#1 Generate shipping data

The first steps have already been taken and you have imported your order data from the online store. easybill has generated the desired documents such as invoice or delivery bill to match this order data. Now you still need the shipping data to be able to pack the packages for your customers.

If you are responsible for shipping yourself, easybill offers the possibility to export the shipping data from the order imports. You can download and print shipping labels according to predefined formats as well as generate shipping data via CSV export. Transfer these CSV files to the shipping provider of your choice and continue the label creation process there. Save time-consuming copying processes or even worse, the manual transfer of your customers’ addresses.

You can’t find your shipping service provider in our ready-made formats? Then easybill also offers a customized CSV and XML format for you. Compile the required content as you wish and export the data for your shipping.

#2 DHL interface

Those who like it even more convenient can even save the step of exporting the shipping data. Instead, use the integrated interface to the DHL business customer portal directly. Link the easybill Import Manager with your DHL login and select the orders that will be transferred via interface.

DHL delivers the finished labels back to us, so you don’t even have to leave easybill to print the labels. We also receive the tracking numbers at the same time, of course, so that we can use them for the next steps.

#3 Tracking information

Speaking of tracking numbers: Since customers appreciate being able to see the shipping status of an order at any time, you should always make tracking numbers available. Many marketplaces nowadays also consider it mandatory to include a tracking number in the order overview in order to provide the customer with this transparency. Where is the package currently located? Can I schedule delivery for myself? This is important information that contributes to the satisfaction of your buyers.

Import tracking data and make it available in any case. easybill manages tracking information directly with the respective order.

#4 Customize shipping status in the store

You carry out the shipping of the parcels yourself and are looking for a tool that also sends your shipping back to the marketplace or online store? easybill meets this requirement and plays the generated tracking data back to the origin of the order.

Manage shipping date in your Import Manager

Both the shipping mark and the tracking number are transferred so that your customer can see the status of his order at any time. Save unnecessary inquiries from customers and optimize the process and also buyer satisfaction by proactively providing the information.

#5 Create packing lists

Exporting shipping data or creating direct shipping labels, however, only represent part of your shipping management. To further optimize the shipping process, packing lists are also a useful tool. Of course, you could also pack your packages purely according to delivery bills. But what if this could also be done even more easily?

For example, so that you only have to go to the warehouse once to a specific compartment to pick up the goods, easybill creates a packing list for you. What is special about our packing list? The first pages list the goods per order, so you can distribute everything among the packages. The last page, however, shows all items with the required quantity across all orders.

Create packing list in you Import Manager

Therefore, take the last page(s) of your packing list, the so-called pick list, to the warehouse and pack your goods there. At your packing station, sort the goods into the respective packages per customer. This will save you a considerable manual effort of going to the warehouse for each order.

#6 Control dropshipping

You have already outsourced the shipping of your goods and take advantage of the dropshipping offer? easybill supports you in the efficient design of this option. Of course, many store systems with merchandise management functions often also offer an interface for the dropshipper.

It is also convenient if you store the contact address of your dropshipper in the Import Manager and after each order an e-mail with the appropriate delivery note for the goods is sent to him. Your service provider can print the delivery bill, pack the goods and send them to your customer.
